Xingu Lodge
Xingu Lodge is an exclusive fishing destination in an undiscovered part of the Brazilian Amazon, where the Xingu River cuts its way through emerald rainforest.

The mythical Brazilian Xingu River, flowing through the indigenous territory of the Kayapo people, is a protected fishing paradise with crystal-clear waters. With over 250 kilometers of flow and winding through more than 22 million hectares of pristine rainforest, it offers one of the richest freshwater basins in the world. The Xingu River is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and is considered one of the most prolific fishing destinations in the Amazon.
The most sought-after fish of the Xingu River is the famous Payara, a top jungle predator, recognizable by its long, sharp teeth and aggressive hunting style. In these waters, it can reach a weight of over 9 kilograms, and the clear river conditions allow for successful fishing with a variety of techniques. In addition to the Payara, the Xingu also offers an extraordinary variety of other fish species. Anglers can target more than ten different species, including peacock bass, wolfish, matrincho, pacuja, bicudo, surubíja and many others.
The fishing season on the Xingu River runs from May to November. In 2026, our expeditions will take place during the early dry season, from May to July, which is considered one of the most strategic and productive times of the year. At this time, lower water temperatures, excellent river transparency and diverse aquatic habitats create ideal conditions for successful fishing, especially large Payara, while also allowing for excellent catches of many other species.
The river conditions during this period allow for quick and easy access from our lodge to many of the best fishing areas, which means more time on the water and an even better fishing experience. Guests are accompanied on the water by an experienced English-speaking guide, along with a local Kayapo guide, whose long-standing knowledge of the river and its secrets is invaluable. From modern aluminum boats, you will explore the most diverse areas of the Xingu River and experience one of the most authentic and premium freshwater fishing adventures in the Amazon.
