Rio Guanaco
The Guanaco River, a true oasis of untouched wilderness, surpasses all other rivers we explored in length and unique character, while also offering an earlier start to the season, starting in mid-November.

The Guanaco River winds its way through a stunning canyon and offers unparalleled views of the Andes, making it not only a premier destination for king salmon fishing. After more than a decade of refining the acclaimed Glacier King program at Estancia Cristina, where we have researched the fishing and behavior of these fish in depth, we set out to find new rivers with similar potential.
The Guanaco River, significantly longer and more unique than most of the others we have explored, presented a special challenge. It took us six years to fully understand its characteristics and develop a quality program at Estancia La Sofia.
We discovered that the Guanaco is not only a premier fishing destination, but a true wilderness oasis. Home to majestic pumas, soaring condors, graceful guanacos, and a rich wildlife. The river flows through a spectacular canyon where the dramatic scenery of the Andes intertwines with the vibrant colors of the plateaus, creating an unforgettable experience for every visitor.
